The Problem: Fast Fashion
Fast fashion is cheap and poorly made clothes that are stylish and affordable for buyers. The clothes are mass-produced and have a negative impact on the environment. The clothes are manufactured by workers who are treated inhumanely.
The Solution: An App.
An app informing people of the issue and helping to limit clothing consumption specifically on college campuses by allowing students to swap clothing.
Why is this needed?
It will help to limit the amount of fast fashion wasted among these age groups that buy it very readily because they don’t have enough money to buy higher-end clothing.
The Fashion Current is an app whose goal is to inform college students of the issue of fast fashion and help limit clothing consumption on college campuses. The Fashion Current helps combat these issues by educating college students about ethical concerns and allows college students to swap clothes with each other so they don't have to buy new clothes for each college event.
Logo Design
The logo was made after many sketches and ideas. You can see my process of creating the logo and coming up with the name on the right.
The logo is a clothing hanger forming a duck which is representative of an animal negatively affected by environmental concerns and the hanger is a representative icon of fast fashion.
The name The Fashion Current is representative of staying up with the current fashion trends and also represents river currents to show that waterways are negatively affected by pollution from fast fashion.
