Chocolate is sweet, but its production has a bitter side to it. In my Graphic Design Toolbox Class, we were tasked with choosing an issue in the chocolate industry to research and form a brand around. I chose Child Slavery and Child Labor issues in the chocolate industry. Specifically issues with child labor and slavery in Ghana and the Ivory Coast farming cocoa beans.
The brand design and packaging were created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
Innocent Chocolate- Brand Blurb
Innocent Chocolate is trying to create a world that is free of child trafficking, specifically in Ghana and the Ivory Coast. 2.1 million children work on cocoa farms in Ghana and the Ivory Coast. These children are taken from neighboring countries, such as Burkina Faso, and trafficked into the industry. No child should be stolen from their home in Burkina Faso and taken to Ghana or the Ivory Coast to work.
To work towards our vision, we will create and sell chocolate that can be certified as being free of using child slave labor/ human trafficking in its production.
Our goal is to stop child trafficking and slavery and keep homes and families together.

Below is my process work and other iterations for the final product.
